Hamlet & Associates, PLLC is now Hamlet Law; Celebrates 10 Years; and Announces New Partners Nicole B. Slaughter and Jessica S. Humphries

Hamlet & Associates, PLLC is kicking off the new year with a name change to Hamlet Law and the addition of partners Nicole B. Slaughter and Jessica S. Humphries. Based in Wilmington, North Carolina, Hamlet Law focuses on construction and commercial litigation.

“Nicole and Jessica have been crucial to the success of our firm, and this partnership simply acknowledges the contributions that they have made over the last decade. I am privileged to be in partnership with them and look forward to continuing to build on the growth that we have been able to achieve together,” said founding partner H. Mark Hamlet.

Ms. Slaughter has been with the firm since its inception in 2012 and has represented businesses, individuals, and governmental organizations throughout the Southeast, serving as lead counsel in numerous complex multiparty lawsuits in both state and federal courts. Ms. Slaughter focuses her practice in the areas of construction law, commercial litigation, product liability, professional malpractice, insurance defense, and other complex litigation. She represents clients in administrative claims with professional licensing boards and provides counsel on matters involving contract drafting, contract interpretation, and liens.

Ms. Slaughter is a member of the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys. She is also a founding member and member of the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Civil Collaborative Law Association. She is licensed to practice in the state courts of North Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia, and also in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

Ms. Humphries joined the firm in November 2012, shortly after its formation. She is licensed to practice in North Carolina and South Carolina and regularly represents clients in both states. She focuses her practice on civil litigation with an emphasis on construction and personal injury litigation, as well land use and real estate development, condemnation and inverse condemnation matters, contract law, and business law.

Ms. Humphries currently serves on the Board of Directors for the New Hanover County Bar Association and is the President of the Coastal Women Attorneys, a Chapter of the N.C. Association of Women Attorneys. She is also actively involved with Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity, currently serving on its Board of Directors and regularly volunteering as a Women Build Team Leader.
