Hamlet Law Attorneys Recognized as 2023 Super Lawyers, Legal Elite and for Pro Bono Service

Attorney Sarah E. Gage has been recognized by New Hanover County Bar Association and Legal Aid of North Carolina for their pro bono service to local Legal Aid clients. Mx. Gage was one of 23 lawyers recognized for their work. Legal Aid’s Wilmington office provides free legal services in civil matters to low income clients in Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Duplin, New Hanover, Onslow and Pender counties.

Mx. Gage and Hamlet Law partner Jessica S. Humphries also have been recognized as 2023 North Carolina Super Lawyers’ Rising Stars – Mx. Gage in the area of construction litigation and Ms. Humphries in the area of civil litigation defense. This is Ms. Humphries’ fifth year being recognized as a Rising Star. The Rising Stars all are under the age of 40 and have practiced law for 10 years or fewer.

Partners H. Mark Hamlet and Nicole B. Slaughter also were recognized as 2023 Super Lawyers in the area of construction litigation. This is Mr. Hamlet’s thirteenth consecutive year to be named a Super Lawyer and Ms. Slaughter’s third. Super Lawyers recognize the top 5 percent of attorneys in North Carolina, as recognized by their peers for professional achievement in various practice areas. Only 2.5 percent of the attorneys in the state are selected as Rising Stars.

Mr. Hamlet, Ms. Slaughter and Ms. Humphries also have been selected among Business North Carolina magazine’s 2023 Legal Elite in the construction law practice area. Mr. Hamlet also was honored in the appellate practice area. Legal Elite honorees are determined by peer lawyers as the best practitioners in business-related fields of law.
